Overview

This course provides a foundational understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and how they are implemented using Microsoft Azure services. It introduces participants to common AI workloads and considerations, while demonstrating how Azure supports solutions in areas such as machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing (NLP), and conversational AI.

Participants will explore core AI principles, including responsible AI, and gain insight into how AI-powered applications are designed and deployed in real-world scenarios. The course covers both theoretical concepts and practical examples, helping learners understand when and how to use Azure AI services effectively.

This course is intended for individuals who want to understand how AI can drive business value and innovation, learners with little to no prior knowledge of AI or cloud computing who want to build foundational skills and those who are not AI experts but want to understand Azure AI services and how they can be integrated into solutions. • Principles of responsible AI (fairness, reliability, privacy, etc.)

2. Fundamentals of Machine Learning

• Basic machine learning concepts and types (supervised, unsupervised)
• Typical ML workflow: data → training → evaluation → deployment
• Azure Machine Learning overview
• No-code/low-code tools (e.g., Azure ML Studio, AutoML)

3. Computer Vision Workloads

• Image classification and object detection
• Optical Character Recognition (OCR)
• Face detection and analysis
• Azure AI Vision services and use cases

4. Natural Language Processing (NLP)

• Text analysis (sentiment, key phrases, entity recognition)
• Language understanding and translation
• Speech services (speech-to-text, text-to-speech)
• Azure AI Language services overview

5. Conversational AI

• Chatbots and virtual agents
• Designing conversational solutions
• Azure AI Bot Service and integration options
